By purchasing a Yorke Peninsula Council Bush Camping permit, you are agreeing to abide by the following Terms and Conditions, all of which are enforced at the discretion of Council’s compliance staff. Refunds Council has a policy of not refunding bush camping permit fees within seven days of the booking. Bookings outside of this seven-day window are to be cancelled using the online booking system and will be refunded. Campers who wish to change campgrounds partway through a permit must first contact Council via info@visityorkepeninsula.com.au or by calling 8832 0000. Camping Council has designated the bush campgrounds as locations where camping is permitted. Campers must purchase Bush Camping permits online or by contacting a Yorke Peninsula Council office before entering a campground. A permit covers one motor vehicle (and caravan/trailer). Each booking is for one campground only, if you wish to change campgrounds during your stay please book each campground separately or alternatively contact Council via info@visityorkepeninsula.com.au or by calling 8832 0000. Camping in other locations on local government land or on any road is prohibited. It is also illegal to camp on any Council-managed foreshore. This permit does NOT cover Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park – please refer to www.parks.sa.gov.au. Any person who camps in a non-authorised area or does not pay the appropriate fee prior to using the designated campground may be issued with a $312.50 expiation notice. Pursuant to Council’s by-laws, ‘camping’ includes setting up a camp, or causing a tent, caravan or motor home to remain on the land for the purpose of staying overnight, whether or not any person is in attendance or sleeps on the land. The maximum booking per permit is 30 consecutive days. After camping on any of the designated camping reserves for a period of 60 consecutive days, you are unable to camp on any designated camping reserve until a further 30 consecutive days has expired. Council may give an extension to this clause upon application by a permit holder. Please set up your van and site in a manner that ensures you are not taking up more space than is appropriate (ie park at a 90-degree angle wherever possible); Council compliance staff reserve the right to ask that you move or condense your site. Days of high fire risk It is your decision whether to stay at the Bush Camping site on days of Catastrophic or Extreme Bushfire risk. Council is not able to facilitate departure from the sites, but strongly recommends you leave the night before Extreme or Catastrophic Bushfire Risk rated days. Campfires Campfires are only permitted in designated camping areas, outside of the fire danger season. It is illegal to take wood from a roadside or reserve for campfire use. More information on campfires can be viewed at www.visityorkepeninsula.com.au/campfires During the Fire Danger Season a campfire is not permitted. Failure to comply may result in a $473 Expiation Notice. The camping locations are all part of the Yorke Peninsula Fire ban district. Check the CFS website for fire ban updates www.cfs.sa.gov.au
