Journey along the open scenic plains of the majestic Kingston to Fairlight track in historical carriages pulled by our restored Ab795 Class Steam Locomotive. Surrounded by mountains and expansive farmland the Kingston Flyer offers a return trip excursion, with spectacular scenery departing the Kingston Station on the shores of Lake Wakatpu, arriving at the newly renovated Fairlight Railway Station.

The Kingston Flyer will be operating public train rides on Sundays in 2023. The trip is a leisurely 1.5 - 2 hour return trip departing Kingston Station. Passengers will travel on a 35/40 minute trip to Fairlight. Once there they will be asked to disembark for 20 minutes while the Ab795 Steam Locomotive turns around on our triangle. While at Fairlight passengers can use the amenities, take photos, watch the train turn around, purchase merchandise, and enjoy complimentary tea and coffee. Children are encouraged to 'race the engine' inside the fenced area at Fairlight Station during turn around. Planning an event or special occasion?
